Exploring Boat Show in West Palm Beach

I went to the Palm Beach International Boat Show thinking I would pick out a yacht to buy -- when my money ship comes in.

But the AquaZone grabbed my attention. It was a 40,000-gallon pool of pure fun on the grounds of the Meyer Amphitheatre in downtown West Palm Beach.

Nautical Ventures Marine Superstore, which bills itself as "The go-to people for fun on the water," brought the latest water toys from its Dania Beach store to the event.

The hovercraft proved to be an amphibious vehicle. It started on land, road up the ramp to the pool and then took off on the water.

It was great fun to watch the hovercraft spin doughnuts in the pool:

I stayed around to watch a jet-powered surf board performance. I wonder what the surfing community thinks about it.

When I arrived at the AquaZone, a kayak used for sea-fishing was in the pool for a demonstration:

Yacht for me

After walking up and down Flagler Drive, the vessel I selected was the Skyfall by Trinity Yachts. The yacht received the name from its second owner, John Staluppi, to reflect his James Bond-series of yachts. He previously owned yachts named Diamonds Are Forever and Casino Royale.

Wondering about Skyfall's asking price? It's a cool $38.5 million.

Thanks to one of my employers and a free pass, I was able to add about 4 miles touring the Boat Show.

 And now, for my numbers

I had my best walking day last week on Thursday, March 26, 2015, when I walked:

Steps: 12,748
Miles: 6.4
